I dont think I am exaggerating, but this semester has got to be worst out of all my semesters so far. That is not considering next semester, where I think things will get more exciting.

First time I did project in Macs till it closed shop.

First time that I spent the whole of my public holiday / weekend pia-ing project.

First time that I visited many cafes just for the sake of finding a table and power supply for doing project there.

First time that I had to pia project tasks non-stop for days.

First time I nearly had a group mate who tried to be a deserter during presentation day.

First time that I got so kan chiong over a company's email reply. (Its worse than waiting for the job offer to come, seriously)

And now, its the first time that we had a company which only wished to see us for interview during the week of our project submission. How great.

The visit to Waseda Shibuya Senior High School marks the start of my happening recess week.

Unfortunately, I was quite late for the meeting and so I had to endure my share of suaning from some people, esp someone by the name of Tan Wei Xin. Took a bus from BB interchange down to the school at West Coast. Surprisingly, the ride didnt take too long.

The japanese are really meticulous in their work. They took hell alot of photos for their school's food trail and school events etc. Somemore they took the effort to decorate all those photos. Really have to hand it to them.

Stamps on our hands after our visit to Mouseland. The class really knows how to capture people's attention. Imagine seeing 2 guys wearing horse masks, walking around the school carrying the sign "mouseland". You'll be amused!

Interior of the school. Thought that it was quite hot inside the school coz the interior was sheltered. No wonder they have air conditioning inside all the classrooms. Somemore their uniform's all long sleeved. Doesnt seem very appropriate for Singapore's climate. Hahas.

We were trying to make some jelly like substance from some chemicals. Some very young boys joined us at the same table and they kept using the chemical bottle till we almost had no chance of using it -_-

Paper art? Hung on 1 of the classes. Its obvious that Wei Xin loves them.

Requested to take a shot with 1 of the students from the haunted hospital. What is Hui Xin looking at? :S Too bad I didnt manage to enter the haunted hospital coz of the endless crowds. Very often the people have to tell us that the place is closed temporarily coz I think they didnt want us to wait there for a looong time for nothing.

Done up menu for all or 1 of their cafes? Took a picture of it coz I found it very nicely done.

Nearing the end of our trip, we decided to go for a school tour. Initially I thought that the tour would be led by the ang moh teachers but as it turned out, it was the Japanese students who brought us around the school. There was also another student who was supposedly not part of the tour guide gang, but he still followed us around. Guess he was trying to garner votes and visits to his class's event. The ironic thing was that he spoke better English than the tour guides. Anyway the guides are only 15 and they looked really mature for their age! Much as we had some difficulties communicating to one another, they were still very friendly and sporty throughout the whole tour.

A big congrats to the Table Tennis team. 48 years is a long time, but we finally ended the long wait (:

Heart wrenching to watch the Men's individual all round gymnastics. Imagine falling down on the apparatus (and more than once) at the most crucial moment only when you've practiced so hard for it. Not easy for Kohei Uchimura to make a comeback and win the Silver medal eventually.

It was also nail biting to watch the Table Tennis semi finals for Team Singapore. But they did it!!!!!

The state of my table roughly shows the state of my mind and body now. I'm not going to post a picture of my table here. its 惨不忍睹.

Having an undone report and the fever that never seems to go away doesnt help matters much either.

And I am seeing stars looking at the bloody eurail map, and making all kinds of greedy requests. But I know I cant complain, coz Jos is doing much more work than me, and the rest are trying to accommodate to my stupid requests. Really grateful to them!

finally went on the southern ridges with xpy and qiling on a fine and bright sat morning. kee wei was to join us, but he didnt manage to, due to reasons known to him and ourselves. hahas.

the sun was freaking hot, but better hot than rain la.

the trip was quite fun, especially with qiling's songs to entertain us.

surprisingly, we didnt take much time to finish most of the attractions. thought that at it would really take the whole day to finish what we did since the map made the routes look sooooo long.

on 1 side of the coin, u'll really like to stay on coz the colleagues are damn nice (except some), and u dont want to rot at home for a month till sch starts.

on the other side, u're starting to realize that u're staying in an environment where not everyone wants u to succeed, and u would welcome more sleep anytime.

but i guess all those worries dont matter, since its my supervisor who makes the final decision. to extend or leave aft the 7th, i'll leave it to 老天爷.

I have been feeling kind of extreme lately, but the feeling of suay-ness outweighs the feeling of heng-ness.

The earthquake in sichuan happened the day right after I got back from Jiangxi. These are 2 different provinces anyway, but perhaps the flight back to sg would be delayed if I had stayed there for 1 more day. Heng ah. but the people stranded or missing in sichuan are not as heng as me. :(

I had looked forward to my attachment coz I like the company? and maybe there will be lesser conflicts since my supervisor has seen my working style from last time. I feel so heng till I saw which ntu staff I got assigned to. I can officially say my attachment grade will most probably be chui.

the networking session was quite boring, but the food was nice. shall consider carefully before attending any other sessions from now on. to me, the number of employers and the companies present there makes a big difference to me. wahaha.

it was raining during the day of the event. we didnt really noe the proper path to the alumni club, plus the fact that everywhere was wet and somehow muddy, so we had a hard time reaching the other side of this road where the club was situated. from the pic, anyone can see that the club is situated on a HILL. try climbing a slope to that on a rainy day with formal wear on -_-. we alr had a once in a lifetime exciting event of trying to cross the road where there is no proper tracks at the traffic light, and cars were trying to come to u from all directions while not forgetting to splash water on u coz they were driving at high speeds -_-

eventually, we settled on climbing a small hilly path to the club, and things happened again. we got lost within 2 buildings, partly coz we kept getting wrong instructions. at a point in time, we reached the correct place, but no one believed that a networking event could be held in a restaurant so we didnt venture in to look. plus we communicated with a waitress who could only speak mandarin. communication barriers -_-

i felt super cui when i finally set down at the networking event. i think i will never ever step into the alumni club again. hahas.

had a great bbq session at shu zi's house and i got a great xmas present from a buddy before the bbq session.

back to this post on wuhan ISP.

we visited the 3 gorges dam during the weekend of our 1st week in wuhan. i would say the scenery wasnt really like what i have dreamt of, but still, its nice to visit the place once (:

went on a bus trip that lasted about 5 hours? to the area where the dam was located. after that, we would go on the ship to sail through the river and visit some other places onshore near the dam.

expressway just after we got out of the tunnel. passed by a few tunnels before we got to the dam. heard that the construction fees for the tunnels were high due to 3 reasons like the materials they used in building the tunnel etc.

then, we entered this centre where they came up with miniature models for the 3 gorges project. interesting to know how the water's travelling, the uses of the dam so on from here.

and then, we went outside to take more photos.

our room. it looks damn small and it doesnt smell good. the air con kept breaking down and jeroen even broke the key -_- the worst thing was, super big mosquitoes were everywhere. I think I broke my own record of killing 5-6 of them while I was bathing. wahahaha.

jeroen, louis, guan and I. the guys were supposed to protect us, so we stayed with them. hahas.

soon after we got on the ship, we got bored. we were waiting for the gates to open so that the ship could sail through... so you can guess what we did again while waiting... during that first night on the ship, i remembered that it was drizzling, and yet we stayed on the deck to see the boat travelling past the 5 gates.

frankly speaking, we could see some of the ships beside us and they looked more presentable. but well, we're going budget, so nvm :)

there was nothing much to do on the ship also, so we played uno! its quite fun to play with them, just that guan and I were always the last 2 to end every round :( in the end, we changed our method of playing and surprisingly, we were not the last!

i realized the job may suck, the people from my dept may suck, but well, i'm not sitting with them. i really like some of my colleagues from the accounts dept. if i had a group of people to miss from this job, it would definitely be them.

the ruaners gathered in cityhall last tuesday. havent seen most of them for ages. we went to millenia walk for dinner. surprisingly, millenia walk was quite deserted compared to the vibrant suntec city just beside it. wahahaha. the dinner we had at the jap restaurant was not bad, though i forgot its name -_- after dinner, kee wei actually treated us to starbucks! surprise surprise :D

We officially started lessons during our 3rd day in Wuhan. Almost every morning, we would have Chinese language classes from 9-10am, followed by a lecture from 1020-1230pm. After lunch, we have another round of lecture from 230-5pm.

We were banded into different Chinese classes based on our choice in the form WHU gave. Well, the "best" class consist of NTU and NUS students only. -_- The teacher was a language teacher from WHU and she looks very 慈祥 and nice! But then, we were shocked to hear that we may need to purchase textbooks. When we took a look at the textbook, we were :S because the chinese characters were all small and tiny inside the book, and we the words know us but we dont know them, so we all decided not to buy the book. (There's no exam anyway) Sad to say, I have such a poor learning attitude mans.

We learnt some interesting stuff like the origins for some words, surnames, dialects etc etc. It would have been a great help if I wasnt out late almost every night, slept late, and cant keep my eyes open during lessons.

We had our lectures inside a lecture hall in the hotel. All our classes were actually held inside there. well, it would have been nice to have some lessons within the WHU compound itself. Even though the lectures were separated into 3 different categories, like rise of central China, 3 kingdoms etc, but somehow I realized the contents of the lectures do overlap.

I was too tired to listen carefully during lectures, but I keep hearing the sentence about China opening up its economy in 1979, and hard and soft budget. The lecturers may tend to repeat what they said as well, so I switched off automatically. In the end, Qida was able to summarize everything the lecturer said within 2 minutes, and I could understand perfectly, compared to the lecturer's rattling for 2 hours.

Other than lectures, we had lessons in areas like chinese painting, taiji, etc.

After a few meals in school, most of us couldnt take it anymore (niao people like me for e.g) and we started having lunches outside school since we have a few hours of break. We would just go to those small eateries near the school like 蔡林记 etc etc. 蔡林记 was recommended by Liu Wei and I think its 1 of the nicest places I have eaten in, in Wuhan. The portions are as usual, huge, and delivery of food is quite fast and efficient. We had nice eating experiences there till 1 day, when Anna found something unpleasant inside her noodles and we stopped going there ever since. hahas. There's also another eatery where they have nice 炸酱面. Too bad I only knew about the place during my 3rd week there? Besides various types of noodles, the eatery also sells 点心, drinks etc.

Visited the banks of Hankou for the first time during the first week as well. besides taking the bus from wuchang, we could also take a ferry across the yangtze river to hankou as well. it was a windy and nice night. didnt notice the buildings on both banks as we were all busy taking photos. hahas.

Not to forget, we had a bbq dinner at a restaurant near school. all their food items are bbqed. amazed at the variety they provide, hahas.

the moral of the story for today is: if u fail to plan early, u plan to fail.

the travel bug has got to me. argh. but too bad everything's so last minute so u cant really achieve anything :(

watching this drama at the moment. just finished episode 1 only, but i have a feeling it will be a great drama (: hoping for more jap dramas to appear next year. wahaha.

i swear that i will never ever find a job that starts at 8am again. can u imagine that i am sleeping at 1030pm infront of the tv set every night?! i dont see my free time in the evening increasing due to the earlier xia ban time, but i do see my sleep time decreasing significantly.

sometimes i feel that doing nothing is more tiring than doing something :s

and orchard road is horrendously crowded. i want to go home.

HAPPY 20TH BDAY GUAN!, and HAPPY BELATED BDAY SPASTIC!

and tml's xpy's bday. her dreaded 20 is approaching. wahahaha.

work's not too good, but well, the problem lies with me as usual. I think I am too naive in my thinking. perhaps this job serves to teach me some new lessons once again.

met up with the GSS peeps on Wed. as guan said, its the regulars who turned up, but still, I really enjoyed myself. I think I havent laughed continuously for so long already. among the regulars, champ got bullied the most again. pity him, but too bad, he's 1 of the most entertaining amongst us all. hahas.

fri was my hero movie date with ah pooi. luckily she managed to reach the cinema at the most crucial time (with our dinners. if not I would be watching the movie with an empty stomach :( ) my heart practically shattered into pieces when I saw the movie ticket price, and I was cursing Cathay for stopping the movie sooooo early at that time (if not I could get a discount for the ticket!!!) but after the movie, i think the price was quite worth it la. would have preferred the tv special for the plot (its more touching), but i feel that the movie was so much funnier than the drama, and the ending was, abrupt.

sat was spent meeting Sophia. has our dim sum buffet, and ended up sitting around vivo almost the whole day coz we didnt have much to shop. she managed to spot liu zhi xuan at onepage while I didnt though. but i bumped into kee wei at onepage, and anyone can guess that he's there to support liu zhi xuan's new book. with his coarse voice, I think anyone will mistake him for a psycho once he appears infront of the actress during the autograph session. wahahaha.

lastly, I FINALLY finished this drama- nodame cantabile. overall, its abit exaggerating, but its super funny, and I felt that they were trying to potray some meanings in an exaggerated way. english orchestra music sounds nice to me, after I finished watching this show as well.

hai, but now dont know what other nice jap dramas to watch liao :(

first day of work today. feeling super tired. v v v v long never wake up so early le, somemore I am to go to work with mum. wahahaha. cant imagine this to be my life next yr during attachment as well.

colleagues were ok, everything was ok, just that I am starting to re-think whether a career in HR is feasible. the phrase 'transactional role of HR' kept flashing across my mind whilst I was doing my tasks.

i'm going to be here for just a month, so my aim is to be a quiet girl and just complete my tasks. dont bother to ask colleagues questions about their lives also and keep quiet. sounds so antisocial, but I am just plain lazy to socialize or something la.

my precious freedom came yesterday. i know a few of my friends have already planned their timetables, but i am really not in the mood to do so now. you wont want to see next semester's exam timetable JUST after ur exams have ended right? luckily registeration's not so soon yet.

met up with the clique. havent seen them for 2 months plus. spent the afternoon and evening lingering around cityhall. rotted quite sometime in Gloria's coffee. i think their coffee's not bad, much better than some of their competitors, hahas.

when you have lots of time to spare, and its just after exams, and someone tries to take ur photo, u'll end up taking such a shot:

after that we had ding tai fung for dinner. oh how i missed them.

the queue was damn long, and the worst thing was, the waitress seemed to have forgotten to take our order after sometime. our mouths were almost wide open when she only took our order slip after sometime -_- someone was irritated by the waiter's frequent appearance to pour tea for us as well, even when our tea cups looked full. hahas.

A VERY HAPPY 20TH BDAY TO TEO WANG WANG!

the bday girl wins hands down in terms of her bday celebration method. singing k till 2am, when her exams are less than 3 days away. ZAI. her special someone is even more zai. refuse to let wang call me back coz he's scared I will be the first to wish her happy bday instead of him. even more zai. hmph.

happy deepavali!

it feels weird to be going back to school, especially when its only to take a test this morning. i'm so glad that its over, coz it means i only have the project to finish on sat. BUT, exams are coming. so haiz.

i really expected the irrelevant feng shui qn to come out, but as piggy guessed, it really didnt!!! totally wasted my night and morn reading up on some purple star, palm reading, etc etc mans. grrrrrrr. instead, some cash flow qn came out -_- not that i know how to do it also anyway.

and then i saw lots of people preparing to go out at the MRT station, lots of foreign labourers especially. haiz i think this is a holiday that they will really value, though its only for a day.

yesterday, i also saw this interesting article in zaobao about being 'high class' and 'low class'

李国煌受邀担任博物馆宣传大使引来不少抗拒的声音，主要原因不外是他那么low class，怎么可以登大雅之堂，在那么high class的地方讲说一些可能连他自己都不明白的东西？
别说一个人是high class还是low class很多时候不能只看表面，事实上怎样才是high class怎样才是low class根本没有定义。

一次在高尚餐厅，看见一个衣冠笔挺的高尚人士对餐厅侍者大呼小叫，因为他预定的桌子还没准备好。他当然有理由生气，但言行举止何止low class，看见的人都觉得不好意思。那一餐他肯定吃得极为不舒服，因为随时得担心侍应生会不会在厨房在他那100元一碟的菜上先吐一口痰。

同样的，在路上不懂公路礼貌的也有不少宝马和马赛地，这些都是高级车，但开车的人未必有同样素质，当你只看表面只凭印象就认为“常常这样的人一定会很那样”，你的观念依据就显得表面虚浮。

就像过去两周被媒体热烈讨论的377A课题，其中一个争论得很激烈的论点是“同性恋是否是一种有得选择的生活方式”。反对的人基本上认为是一种选择，但到底有没得选，真相只有同性恋者本身最清楚。这当中的道理是一样的，李国煌到底是high class还是low class，也不能单凭我们在电视节目上看到的他来评定，批评他的人，有多少真正认识他？

当今最常见的“以字取人”的现象就在网络上，一大堆冲着博客部落格趋势的的人喜欢自说自话，不必本钱就出言不逊。最好笑的是一些所谓的博客，其内容就是到处去别人的博客“抬杠”，留下一两句自以为是的批评留言后，再把全部内容copy并paste在自己的博客部落格上，居然当成是一种网络文化的贡献。

最累的就是，社会上有太多这类自认high class实际上却什么都不懂的人在说话。
出声不是不可以，但没有建设性的，比如这个年代在博客部落格上很多无聊的声音，最终只不过反映了一个人无知愚昧的一面。

其实除了李国煌本身，没有另外一个人知道他到底能不能胜任博物馆宣传大使这个任务，若他做得不好，自然会有人批评，那他可以自我提升。做得不好，他自然会被淘汰。我比较看好李Ah Beng会做得很出色，一个经常受到批评但从来没有被击倒的艺人，自然会有在劣境下生存的条件。

well, as the article said, how many of us actually know how mark lee is like exactly? does speaking singlish and hokkien (sometimes) on national tv in an attempt to liven the show constitute low class? then isnt the majority of us here low class? i believe we all have our own presenting standards, not all of us have to be formal to be high class or anything. i think he did a great job as a tour guide in guiding the chan brothers group in europe, and he wasnt even 'low class' at all!

seriously i would join the museum tour group if they decide to hold another one with mark lee as ther tour guide (:

it doesnt help things when u're late for 2 classes, when it just happens that u've tests in those 2 classes.

i hate to think about how i fared after each test everytime, because they only serve to remind me of how badly i have done. come to think of it, i'm disappointed in my comms assignment today. haiz!!!!

it was the last lesson cum final presentation for 223 on mon. you could see the relieved look on everyone's faces after final presentation ended. took photos with other groups from the 1st presentation session. thought it was quite stupid to wear the blazer though :p

Apparently, Marvin and Aik Leong got that pair of nerdy looking specs from a bday party of their friend's and decided to dare one another to wear it during the presentation. Marvin had to treat Aik Leong to lunch if he wore the specs. In the end.... he really wore it. He was presenting on this slide on base pay when he suddenly said 'this table shows blah blah blah. The figures are too small so I need to take out my specs to see...' and out came that pair of specs. the whole class laughed till peng except the prof -_-

Went for an interview for a holiday job this morn. The company's nt that easy to find and I nearly got lost :s its situated right beside SPH. suddenly thought of my translation prof, who's now working there :p well, i think chances of me getting the job is quite low despite less than 5 ppl vying for the position -_-
